The VoIP Hurricane Net will activate at 1 PM EDT Wednesday(Oct9) Afternoon through Early Thursday Afternoon for Major Hurricane Milton and impacts to Florida during this timeframe. The net, is supporting WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida. WX4NHC will also be active with their Amateur Radio Station as well during this timeframe.
In Ocala, you can access this net on the 442.775 repeater (pl 123/123) beginning at 1pm this afternoon(Oct 9). This repeater is also monitoring the NWA Jacksonville severe weather page and will announce watches and warnings for Marion County as they are updated.
From the VOIP Hurricane Net: Any Amateur Radio Operators in the affected area of Milton or with relays into the affected area of Milton are asked to provide surface and damage reports into the VoIP Hurricane Net for relay into WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio station at the National Hurricane Center.
We appreciate any and all support from Amateur Operators in the affected area or Amateur Operators with relays into the affected area.
