Allstar node: 60096. AllStarLink is a network of Amateur Radio repeaters, remote base stations and hot spots accessible to each other via Voice over Internet Protocol. AllStarLink runs on a dedicated computer (including the Rasperry Pi) that you host at your home, radio site or computer center. It is based on the open source Asterisk PBX running our app_rpt application. App_rpt makes Asterisk a powerful system capable of controlling one or more radios. It provides linking of these radio “nodes” to other systems of similar construction anywhere in the world via VoIP.
This node also gathers current weather information from the NWS in Jacksonville Fl for our area of Central Marion County. Severe weather announcements will be broadcast as they are released from the National Weather Service.
Regular Nets on the 442.775 Repeater
Some tips for participating in the Nets:
- Pause 2 seconds after keying up to talk to allow your signal to propagate through the network; there are many linked repeaters and nodes that must key up before you can be heard.
- Pause 3 seconds between transmissions to allow other stations to break in, other users to disconnect, and repeaters to reset.
